Exotic insect and animal specimens are sourced from reputable wholesalers across the globe, and we only purchase hand raised or B-grade specimens that would normally be thrown out. Meanwhile, all domestic specimens are hand-raised and naturally deceased, or found deceased in the wild. All animal parts are legally and humanely harvested. Nothing is killed for display or use in the shop.

The four methods we use are as follows, depending on size and specimen: ‘Wet’ fixation in formalin, ‘Wet’ preservation in alcohol, Mummification, and Preservation in clear epoxy resin.

Custom orders/commissions are started within 48 hours of invoice payment, and are typically ready to ship within one week. It may take longer for some more complex orders, and of course errors and setbacks can increase commission time. If an error occurs in the production of your order, you will be notified via our email (WickedWildernessOddities@gmail.com) as soon as possible.

Resin items should be kept out of UV light if possible, despite their anti-yellowing properties. Resin is also sensitive to acetone and alcohol, such as those ingredients in nail polish remover, and should not come into contact with them. Likewise they should avoid being dropped or treated carelessly.

All Animal and Plant Specimens should be treated with the upmost care, as remains are somewhat fragile, despite preservation methods. These specimens are intended for display only, and not daily interaction, unless they are an accessory or jewelry.

All Clothing and Plush Items should be handled with care, and washed in cool water by hand if soiled. Hang to dry in an area with adequate air circulation until no moisture remains. Store in a place away from animals and exposure to the elements.
